Job Title: Village Fiscal Officer

Location: Cridersville, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 (qualifications and experience dependent)

About Us:
Join our vibrant community in Cridersville and contribute to the financial governance of our village. We are looking for a dedicated Fiscal Officer who will work closely with our department Administrators, Mayor & Council to ensure the financial health and sustainability of our village.

Role Overview:
The Fiscal Officer is a critical position that oversees all financial operations in the Village of Cridersville in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code section 733.27. As a Fiscal Officer, you will be instrumental in shaping the financial future of our community and ensuring transparent fiscal practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily financial operations of the village.
  • Receive, deposit, and maintain accurate records of all village funds.
  • Prepare and sign checks for accounts payable and payroll.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Collaborate with the Mayor and department heads in preparing the annual budget.
  • Attend all council meetings, finance committee meetings, and provide comprehensive minutes and records.
  • Become CPIM compliant to allow village investments to continue.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and assist the State Auditor during audits.

  • Associate's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with computerized municipal accounting systems (e.g., Uniform Accounting Network).
  • Knowledge of municipal government structures and fundamental accounting procedures.
  • Experience with HR and benefits administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and exercise sound judgment.
